Early on, Mr. Jet and I decided we'd have a first look.  From a logistical standpoint, it made sense to do the majority of our photos before our ceremony, since it didn't start until 5 PM - only an hour before sunset.  From a frantic bride standpoint, it made sense to do the majority of our photos before our ceremony so that the first time I saw Mr. Jet was a private, special moment and I could break down in any manner of ugly cry I wished.

I grew up just a block from where my step-mom lives now and where my girls and I got ready that day, and there's a small park at the end of her street where I played as a child more times than I could ever count.  I picked that park for our first look as a nod to my past and start to our future.  Who knows, maybe our kids will play in that park some day.

I asked my step-mom, sister (MOH J) and MOH K to join me as I went to go meet my guy.

At this point in time, I wasn't nervous at all.  I was calm and excited to see Mr. Jet.  Maybe it was the Instagram peek I got a few hours earlier, or maybe it was the fact that I felt so at peace with myself (I looked so good!) and with the choice I was making in marrying my absolute best friend on Earth.
Uncle J had Mr. Jet facing away from me on a small bench in the corner of the park and as I approached him, I remember smiling from ear to ear.  I tapped him gently on the shoulder and burst into tears as he turned around.
We spent the next 15 minutes or so hugging, kissing and just...staring.  We were both on cloud 900 and took absolutely everything in.
I fiddled with his boutonniere and he dried my last tear and before long, it was time to head back to the trolley, together.
We walked back up the street hand-in-hand and were greeted by old neighbors and our bridal party clapping and hollering at us.  No wonder why people want to be celebrities, it was so fun!
